HP Deskjet 2133 Printer Troubleshooting

    HP Deskjet 2133 PRINT A DOCUMENT

  • Go to any file and then click on the Print button.
  • After the above step, select your HP Officejet printer from the list of printers available.
  • Select the Properties or Options button to open the Properties dialog box.
  • Select the appropriate options.
  • Select Portrait or Landscape orientation from the Layout tab.
  • From the Paper/Quality tab, choose the appropriate paper type.
  • For paper size selection, click on the Advanced option to select the appropriate paper size.
  • After making the necessary changes, click OK.
  • After that, click on the Print or OK button.
  • Go to any file and then click on the Print button.
  • After the above step, select your HP Officejet printer from the list of printers available.
  • Select the Properties or Options button to open the Properties dialog box.

  • For OS X v10.6: Click the blue triangle present next to the Printer selection option to access the print options.
  • For OS X Lion and Mountain Lion: Click Show Details to access the print options.
  • From the Print options menu, choose the page orientation, size and scaling percentage etc.
  • After making necessary changes, click Print.

Scan

SCAN TO A COMPUTER

You can scan directly to your computer either from the printer’s display panel or from the HP printer software installed on your computer. Scanning from the printer display is pretty fast, while the latter option gives you various other options.
Make sure that your HP printer and the computer are connected via a wireless network or USB cable.

Load the Document:

  • Lift the scanner lid on your printer.
  • Place the document on to the scanner glass that you want to scan and close the scanner lid.

SCAN FROM THE PRINTER’S CONTROL PANEL:

  • Place the document on to the scanner glass that you want to scan and close the scanner lid.
  • If you want to scan to a computer then, connect the printer and the computer via a wireless network or USB cable.
  • After the above process, start the scan from the printer’s display.
  • Go to Scan option on your printer’s display by using the arrow buttons.
  • Choose the scan to Computer.
  • Then, tap on Settings to change scan type or resolution and then choose Scan.

SCAN FROM YOUR COMPUTER

  • Open the printer software on your computer by following the method given below.
  • Windows 8 or 10: Right-click on the empty area of the screen on your desktop.Select All Apps, and then choose the icon with the name of your printer.
  • Windows 7: Click on the Start button on your desktop, select All Programs, choose HP and then click on HP Deskjet 2133 series.
  • Open the HP printer software on your desktop and then click on the Print & Scan.Select Scan a Document or Photo from the options available.
  • After that, choose the type of scan from the shortcut menu and then tap on Scan.
  • After that, if you want to scan another document then, select Save or else choose Done.
  • The scan will be saved on your computer which can be accessed via the windows explorer i.e. from the computer icon.

Copy

COPY DOCUMENTS

Using the Copy menu on your HP Deskjet 2133 printer you can easily select number of copies and the color of copying. You can also change paper type, size by using the Advanced Settings.

MAKE A ONE-SIDED COPY :

    Load the full-sized paper onto the input paper tray of the printer.
  • Lift the Scanner lid of the printer
  • Place the document or photo that you want to scan with the print side down on the scanner glass.
  • Close the scanner lid properly.
  • After the above step, select the number of copies and settings
  • Tap on Copy option in the home screen of the printer display.
  • Choose the number of copies by using the arrow buttons.
  • Change the paper size, type, paper quality etc.by using settings option.
  • After the above step, tap copy and select Black or Color.

MAKE A TWO-SIDED COPY :

  • Load the full-sized paper onto the input paper tray of the printer.
  • Lift the Scanner lid of the printer
  • Place the document or photo that you want to scan with the print side down on the scanner glass.
  • Close the scanner lid properly.
  • After the above step, select the number of copies and settings
  • Tap on Copy option in the home screen of the printer display.
  • Choose the number of copies to 2-Sided by using the arrow buttons.
  • Change the paper size, type, paper quality etc.by using settings option.
  • After the above step, tap copy and select Black or Color.
  • Place the other side of your document on the scanner glass, when it is prompted by the printer.
  • After that, touch OK to finish the 2-sided copying process

Ink Cartridge Problem

Remove the black cartridge

If you just set up your printer and you notice that black ink is missing or faded on your printouts, follow these steps to remove the black cartridge and print only with the tri-color cartridge. This allows the printer to operate in single-cartridge mode, which creates composite black from the tri-color cartridge.

  • Press the Power button to turn on the printer, if it is not already on.
  • Locate the slots on the left and right sides of the printer.
  • Slide your fingers into the two slots, and then gently lift up to open the cartridge access door. The carriage
  • moves to the cartridge access area. Wait until the carriage is idle and silent before you continue.
  • To release the cartridge, lift the lid on the cartridge slot, and then gently push the lid back until it stops.
  • Pull up on the black cartridge to remove it from the slot.
  • Set the black cartridge aside, with the nozzles facing up.
  • Close the cartridge access door.
  • Try the print job again.
  • If the printer operates correctly in single-cartridge mode, let the black cartridge rest with the nozzles facing up for several hours or overnight, reinstall it, and then try to print again. If you are satisfied with the print quality, you can stop troubleshooting.
  • If the printer does not operate correctly in single-cartridge mode or you are not satisfied with the print quality after you reinstall the black cartridge, continue to the next solution.

Printer Offline Problem

  • This document applies to all HP printers and computers with macOS and OS X.
    The message ‘offline’ displays as the status for a printer or the message ‘Printer not responding’ displays when attempting to print.
  • Offline indicates that the Mac cannot communicate with the printer. The offline message displays when the printer is powered off, or a USB cable connection has become disconnected.
  • Step 1: Check connection between the printer and the Mac (connectivity)

  • Offline messages happen when the Mac cannot communicate with the printer. Select the type of connection you have, then follow the instructions to make sure the connection is working.
  • Step 2: Reset the printer

  • Resetting power to the printer forces the printer to reset stored values in the firmware. A power reset can help when the printer is not accepting communication from the Mac.
  • Make sure the printer is idle, not making any sounds, before continuing.
  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  • If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
  • Try printing again and note what happens.

Clear Paper Jam

HP Deskjet 2133 PRINTER SETTINGS:

CLEAR A PAPER JAM
Follow the steps given below to clear away any paper jam on your HP Deskjet 2133 printer.

  • Switch OFF your printer and then open the cartridge access door.
  • Take off the cleanout as shown in the image given below.
  • Gently pull off the jammed paper as shown in the image given below.
  • After removing the paper jam completely, place the cleanout back into its place as shown in the image given below.
  • After the above step, close the cartridge access door and press OK on the printer’s control panel to continue the print job.

Improve Print Quality:

  • Always use the power button on your printer to switch OFF your computer. This protects the printer’s ink cartridges from drying out completely.
  • Use original HP ink cartridges and supplies.
  • Select proper paper type using the Media drop-down menu and choose appropriate print quality using the Quality Settings drop-down menu.
  • Go to the HP printer software on your computer and then click Print & Scan to alter the settings.
  • Replace the ink cartridges as soon as the ink levels of the old cartridges are low. Do not wait until the ink levels are extremely low.
  • Align the ink cartridges properly.

To Align the Cartridges from the Printer Software
Align the ink cartridges properly, so as to ensure the quality of the output. If you install a new cartridge, then your HP printer prompts you to align the ink cartridge.

  1. Load the input tray with plain A4 sheets.
  2. Open the printer software on your computer by following the method given below.
  3. Windows 8 or 10: Right-click on the empty area of the screen on your desktop. Select All Apps, and then choose the icon with the name of your printer.
  4. Windows 7: Click on the Start button on your desktop, select All Programs, choose HP and then click on HP Deskjet 2133 series.
  5. Click on the Print & Scan option, and then select Maintain Your Printer to view the Printer Toolbox.
  6. On the Printer Toolbox, click Align Ink Cartridges. It is present on the Device Services tab.
  7. On clicking the Align Ink Cartridges, your HP Deskjet 2133 printer starts printing an alignment sheet.
  8. Place the cartridge alignment sheet on the scanner glass as shown in the image given below. Print side down should be facing down.
  9. After the above step, follow the instructions on the printer’s display.

ALIGN THE CARTRIDGES FROM THE PRINTER DISPLAY

  1. Tap on Tools menu from the printer’s display panel.
  2. On the Tools menu, select Align Printer and follow the instructions on the printer’s display.
    1. Print a Diagnostics Page from the Printer Software

      • Load plain sheets of paper onto the input tray of the printer.
      • Depending on your Windows operating system, access Print & Scan,
      • Windows 8 or 10: Right-click on the empty area of the screen on your desktop. Select All Apps, and then choose the icon with the name of your printer.
      • Windows 7: Click on the Start button on your desktop, select All Programs, choose HP and then click on HP Deskjet 2133 series.
      • Open the HP printer software and click Print & Scan.
      • After that tap on Maintain your Printer.
      • In the Maintain your Printer section, choose Print Diagnostic Information from the Device Reports tab.

      Clear the Print Queue

      • From the Windows Start menu, click Devices and Printers.
      • Double-click on the icon HP Deskjet 2133 printer to open the print queue.
      • From the Printer menu, click on the Cancel all documents or Purge Print Document, and then tap Yes.

HP Deskjet 2133 comes with Fax feature which enables you to send and receive faxes, including color faxes. You can also schedule faxes and set up speed-dials to send faxes quickly and easily to frequently used numbers. You can also set number of fax options, such as fax resolution, contrast of the faxes.
Send a Fax

  • Using the HP Deskjet 2133 printer’s display panel, you can send a black-and-white or color fax. You can also send a fax manually from a phone attached with the printer. This will enable you to speak with the recipient before sending the fax.

Send a Standard Fax

  • From the HP Deskjet 2133 printer’s display, you can send a single page or multiple pages black-and-white or color fax.
  • For printed confirmation of sent faxes, Fax confirmation must be enabled on your printer.

Send a standard fax from the printer control panel

  • Load the original document print-side down on the scanner glass or print-side up in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF).
  • Navigate through the printer’s display by using Up and Down buttons to choose Fax, and then press OK.
  • After the above step, choose Black Fax or Color Fax.
  • If the document is loaded in the Automatic Document Feeder, then it is sent to the number that you enter. If the ADF is empty, then the printer prompts you to make a selection, with an alert message on your printer’s display.
  • Enter the fax number by using the keypad on the HP Deskjet 2133 printer, and then press OK.

EPRINT FROM ANYWHERE
HP ePrint is a free application present in most of the HP wireless printers with which you can print documents in emails sent to the device.For using the HP ePrint on your printer, you must have an active wireless internet connection. HP ePrint doesn’t work via USB connection.
Before using the HP ePrint, ensure the following:

  • Your 123.hp.com/dj2133 printer is connected to an active wireless network.
  • Enable Web Services on your printer.

Enable Web Services

  • Go to the printer control panel and then press the ePrint button.
  • Tap on Accept the Terms of Use,
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to enable Web Services.
  • After the above steps, the Web Service Summary is displayed.Click Print info to get the print out of the information page.
  • Open your email application from your Smartphone or computer.
  • Go to compose option to create a new email.
  • With the email, attach the document or photo that you want to print and enter your HP printer’s email address in the “To” line.
  • Click or touch the Send button to send the email.

To Find the Printer’s email Address

  • Go to the printer’s control panel and press the ePrint button.
  • Select Web Services Settings menu.
  • Select Display Email Address, to view the printer’s email address.
    • To Turn OFF ePrint

      • Go to the printer’s control panel and press the ePrint button.
      • Select Web Services Settings menu.
      • Select ePrint from the menu, and then choose OFF.

Issues Regarding Printer Not Found
