First Time Printer Setup

  1. Select a well-ventilated, dust-free area and place the device. Avoid placing the device in direct sunlight or in an environment where temperatures are above of 10 degrees Celsius to 32.5 degrees Celsius (50 degrees Fahrenheit to 91 degrees Fahrenheit). You can now unpack the device

  3. Lift the scanner lid, remove the foam and unlock the scanner.
  4. Remove the toner cartridge from its packaging.
  5. Open the cartridge door and install the cartridge.
  6. Open tray 2, remove the cardboard and adjust the paper guide widths
  7. Load the print media and close tray 2.
  8. Connect the network cable to the device.
  9. Plug in the power cord and switch the printer on
  10. After turning on the printer, wait for it to initialize.
  11. On the control panel, use the arrow buttons and the OK buttons.
  12. Follow the screen prompts on the control panel to configure the :
    • Language
    • Location
    • Default Settings
  13. Under Default Settings you can choose either self-managed or IT-managed
  14. Under Self-managed: Optimized default settings for most users that include guided setup and configuration steps and automatic updates
  15. Under IT-managed: Optimized default settings for fleet manageability.
  16. All Settings are fully customizable after initial setup
  17. For a wired Ethernet connection:
    • Connect the network cable to the printer and to the network and wait for the printer to search and acquire the network address
    • Check in the printer display if IP address is listed
    • If yes, select it to setup the printer
