Unboxing the Printer
- Cut the tapes across the cardboard box open and lay it on its side
- From here, hold the top of the cover to pull the printer out of the compartment
- Inside the box, you will find, besides the printer, a set of ink cartridges (KCMY), power cable, reference guide, instant ink subscription flyer, regulatory information and a poster for setup
- Remove the tapes from on top of the printer and all other protective materials
Powering on
- Insert the power cable into its slot behind the printer while plugging the other end into an electrical socket
- Switch the main circuit on – the LCD in front of the control panel comes on
- Follow the steps on the screen
- Choose your language first, and then click on Confirm and thereafter, choose the country and click on Confirm
Installing Cartridges
- The printer will then prompt you to install the cartridges
- You need to open the cartridge access door, in order to install the print cartridges
- Now, take cartridges that came along with the box and insert them one by one in the order as shown on the seats
- When you push the cartridges in, you should hear a snap – indicating that it has been seated appropriately
- Now, close the cartridge access door, and look for a successful message on the LCD
- If the message indicates that the cartridges are inserted appropriately and are ready, click on Ok
Placing Paper
- The next screen on the LCD asks you to insert plain A4 size papers
- For this, open the input tray and stack some paper into it
- Move the width adjuster to suit the width of the paper stack
- Close the input tray and thereafter, pull the output tray out
- Reach out to the control panel and click on Ok
HP Software Installation
- The next screen on the LCD is the Get HP Software screen
- A QR code is displayed alongside a message that asks you to go to 123.hp.com
On the Android Phone
- You can connect to the wireless network from your android mobile phone using HP Smart
- Open up a standard browser on your smartphone and go to 123.hp.com
- Install the HP Smart app from this page -> click on Get the App button and then -> click Install -> finally, click on Open
- To completely enable HP Smart, you must agree to the conditions by click on the check box and then tap Continue
- The app starts searching and displays the Get started by adding a printer screen
- You will see a Plus icon at the top -> click on it
- Allow the app to search for printer devices around the area
Printer Not Found
- If a message stating Printer Not found displays, click on the Set Up a new printer button
- Click on Continue at the Search for Printers? Screen
- A message displays asking if you wish to allow HP Smart to access the device’s location
- Click on Allow to continue with the setup
- You should now be able to see your printer on the screen -> click on it
123.hp.com/ojp9015 Wi-Fi Connection
- Next you will get the Connect Printer to Wi–Fi screen -> for this, you must enter the Wi-Fi password since the network name is discovered and already displayed
- After keying in the Wi-Fi password, click on Continue
- The app completes the four steps namely Printer Found, Preparing the Printer, Obtain an IP Address and FinishConnections
- Once all the four steps are done, a Printer Connected to Wi–Fi message is displayed on your mobile screen
Test Your Printing
- Simply click on Continue to follow the guided set up -> thereafter, a message is visualized where all of HP’s Account benefits are provided
- You get automatic warranty registration and software updates, while being able to print from anywhere and at any time
- At the next step log in to your HP Account -> if you do not possess one, you may have to create it now
- After that click on Next to allow the app to check on the Printer Status
- Once all the steps are complete, you can also accomplish printing from other devices
- From the final screen, the app will ask you to test your print – here, you just have to click on Print a Document
