Steps to download the HP printer drivers for Windows 7
- The latest version of the HP printer driver download is available at 123.hp.com/driver download
- To download and install a driver with a USB connection:
- Disconnect the cable between the printer and the computer
- Identify the printer model
- Follow on-screen instructions for accessing the driver download page
- Click on Download for the full-feature driver
- To install and use the Windows built-in driver

- Set Windows 7 to automatically download the driver software:

- In the control panel, click on Change Device Installation settings
- In the device installation window, select Yes and then Save Changes
- To detect the printer during driver installation
- Turn on the printer
- Connect the HP printer and the computer through the USB Port using a USB cable
- A Found New Hardware window will be displayed
- Follow any additional prompts and then print a test page
- For a wireless connection:
- Gather the SSID, WEP key or WPA pass phrase
- Connect the computer, printer and router to the wireless network
- On the printer’s control panel, click on Setup and then Network
- Scroll down to the Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions to connect the printer to the network
- Use the Add a Printer wizard to install the print driver
- For a wired or wireless connection
- Click on Devices and Printers
- Select Add a Printer
- Click on Add a network then Wireless
- In the Select a Printer window choose your printer name
- If the printer is on the list, click on Next
- Click on Add a local printer and then on Use an existing port and then click on Next
- For the printer drivers to update, click on Windows Update
- Select the manufacturer’s details when prompted and in the Printers window click on your computer’s name and then click on Next
- Select the Add a network and then Wireless
- Click on The Printer that I want isn’t listed
- Select Add a Printer using TCP/IP address
- Click on Next
- From the Device Type list, click on AutoDetect
- Click on Next after adding your printer’s IP address in the box
- To install the printer driver click on Next
