Steps to download the HP printer drivers for Mac 10.11
- Download the latest version of the HP printer drivers for your MAC OS X 10.11 at 123hp-com.com/macdriverdownload
- To download the printer driver:
- Use the HP Easy Start guided installation app available:
- Follow the instructions on the website to download the driver
- If the HP Easy Start has opened but cannot download the driver:
- Verify if the computer is connected to the network
- Try downloading again
- When prompted enter your printer model name
- Confirm the version of the operating system
- Click on Download next to the HP Easy Start under Driver-Product Installation
- The printer driver will be downloaded in the Downloads folder
- Installing the HP print driver from the Downloads folder

- Choose the connection type during installation (USB, Wireless or Wired) in accordance to printer preferences
- Open the Downloads folder
- Either click on HP Easy Start file or the full feature printer driver .dmg file
- To setup printer connection and install the printer driver follow the on-screen instructions
- Click on Add Printer – This creates a print queue in MAC
- In the Add window, click on Use or Print Using menu
- Select your HP printer name and then click on Add
- To complete the installation return back to the HP installer
- Installing the HP driver using the Apple Software update:
- Open the Apple menu
- Click on Print & Fax and then on Printers & Scanners
- The printers list will display the name of your printer
- Remove and Re-add the printer to confirm printer communication:
- Click the name of your printer and then the Minus sign to remove it
- Click on the Plus sign
- Select Add Printer or Scanner
- Click on the name of your printer to add it
- Click on Use or Print Using menu
- Choose the name of your printer and then click on Add to add to the printer’s list
- Click Download & Install to complete installation for software installation (when prompted)
- Close System Preferences and print a test page
