HP Wireless Printer Setup and troubleshooting For Mac Mountain Lion
Steps to setup the HP printer for Mac Mountain Lion
- Ensure that your computer and printer are connected together
- Use an Ethernet cable for a wired connection or connect to a network for a wireless connection
- Install the HP Driver with the help of the Apple software update
- From the Apple menu, click on System Preferences
- Select Printers & Scanners
- Verify your printer’s listing Printers
- If available remove and re-add printer to confirm communication:

- Click on your printer name and remove it
- Click on Add Printer or Scanner
- Select your printer name again and click on Next
- If your printer is not available in the list:
- Connect the printer and the Mac with a USB cable (or use the wireless network)
- Resolve any connection issues
- Proceed to the next step
- Under the Print Using menu select the name of your printer
- Click on Add
- When prompted to install the software click on Download and Install
- If you get the message Software is currently unavailable then download the latest software from : 123.hp.com/softwaredownload
- Close the System Preferences window
- You can now print a test page or fax or scan
- In case the installation fails or the printer software is unavailable, then:
- Make sure you download the latest printer driver software available at : 123.hp.com/driver download
- The Macbook PRO should have the most current updates on it
- Verify the Mac’s connection to the internet
- Try using the AirPrint if you are connected to the network

- From the Print Using menu select AirPrint
